WE ARE (AND YOU ARE WELCOME!)
7″ vinyl release
music by Frans Poelstra, Oleg Soulimenko and their guests
Friday, 16.02.2024 um 19:00 hrs
Free entrance
We, Frans Poelstra and Oleg Soulimenko, warmly invite you to join us for a cosy evening with (lo-fi) songs and other music. We have a good reason for this event, namely the official presentation of our first 7″ vinyl (single) release!
We have been making music for the last few years, creating several compositions and songs and also performing them. In February last year in Leipzig we premiered the music performance The Feeling of Home and, with the great help of Oliver Stotz, two of our songs from this performance are now on a 7″ vinyl. The songs are about us, our spirit and about our dreams of our homes.
We will of course play the two songs, but we also invited some friends to come and play their music and compositions. So, enough reason to show up and meet up again with friends and colleagues. There will be drinks and simple finger food, so nothing can go wrong! And well, who knows, maybe someone will spontaneously decide to sing a song, we don’t rule it out!
Our music guests:
Veza Fernández
Dominik Grünbühel and Luke Baio
Jasmin Hoffer
Akemi Takemi
Jack Hauser and David Ender and Peter Panayi
Frans Poelstra, Oleg Soulimenko and Oliver Stotz
Claudia Bosse
Mathias Lenz
Matthis Meinharter
We are looking forward to share our music with you!

Frans Poelstra
As a kid Frans Poelstra stared more into the waters off the canals in Amsterdam than being at school. Dreaming to be the next Jimi Hendrix, but he had no talent to play the guitar, he decided in 1972 to work in the arts, the place where you can professionally dream. For him, performing is a matter of keeping channels open in order to think, to listen and to dream. He makes work which mixes dance with theatre, music and visual arts in a way which makes people think: ”Do I dream, is this really possible or at least acceptable?”
Oleg Soulimenko is a Russian choreographer and performance artist, who lives and works in Vienna. In 1990, he founded the Saira Blanche Theatre that went on to tour the world with its provocative performances. Together with brut Wien, he developed in 2010 the exchange program „Music here, Music there: Vienna–Moscow“ between Austria and Russia with performances in both capital cities. Soulimenko’s works have been presented, among other venues, at Wiener Festwochen, brut Wien, Tanzquartier Wien, ImPulsTanz Festival, Performa 07 in New York, steirischer herbst in Graz, Sophiensaele and Tanz im August in Berlin, theatre festival Impulse, Kaaitheater in Brussels, Southern Theatre in Minneapolis, Baltic Circle in Helsinki, Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz and Kunsthalle Wien.
